Although the game works on paper and still has lots of exciting moments, there isn't as much depth as players were hoping for. Story-focused players also probably won't get much out of Destruction AllStars' campaign, which is fairly simple in concept and execution. The core concept works, and there's four different game modes for players to try, but those game modes haven't held players' attention as much as Lucid Games was hoping. The biggest complaint about the game from players seems to be that Destruction AllStars just doesn't have enough content. RELATED: Everything You Need to Know About PS5 Exclusive Destruction AllStars Short-Form Vehicular Action Destruction AllStars merely needs to get past players' first impressions. There's still room and time to improve the game, of course, and Lucid Games surely will be looking for ways to give the game a second chance. It just hasn't landed quite on the mark it was aiming for. The game promised to deliver high speed excitement and endless action, and many players think Lucid Games still got a pretty good shot at that objective. ![]() Unfortunately, Destruction AllStars hasn't had the launch it was hoping for, sitting at a 63 out of 100 on Metacritic currently.Ĭonsensus among players and critics seems to be that the core game concept of Destruction AllStars works just fine. The game's simple objective results in a lot of high octane moments of vehicular combat. Players choose a character with unique vehicles and abilities and go to town battling each other in an arena, destroying each other's vehicles with relish. ![]() ![]() The concept for Destruction AllStars is fairly unique: it's somewhere between a demolition derby and a MOBA. One of the games that the PS5 is trying to attract players with is Destruction AllStars. One of the best ways that a new game console can attract players is by having a strong roster of exclusive games.

I think it’s important to note that we did not lay out the boards and plan in advance. To avoid seeing random gaps in trouble areas, simply stain the plywood behind the seams before securing a wood slat over it to disguise the gaps. Repeat, working from the center out, staggering each piece of wood.ĭue to the unevenness of the pallet wood, not all pieces will perfectly match one another. Using a drill, screw each end of the slats to the wall with two to three screws. Place the first pallet slat at the top, in the center of the wall. Adhere thin pieces of plywood to the wall by attaching them with wood screws directly into the studs. Once the slats are stripped and sanded, it’s time to prep the wall for installation. You must remember to account for waste because some slats will inevitably get damaged in the process. We filled an 11 x 8 foot wall and required approximately seventeen (17) pallets to make it happen. I am not going to kid you-this part was crazy time consuming. My father was in town one weekend and helped with sanding down each board after Josh used a crowbar to disassemble each pallet slat and remove its many nails. The beauty of this cabin-inspired look is that the more distressed and wrecked the boards, the better. Some places charged five bucks per pallet while others said, please take them away! ![]() I’ve gotta admit that it was kind of a thrill driving around town and throwing abandoned pallets from the back of stores into the car. After two weekends of some serious elbow grease, we made it happen. To my surprise, he took it as a challenge and jumped at the chance to make his own pallet wall. Part of me thought there was no way Josh was going to agree to this. So when it came time to create a big boy room for my little man Chase, I showed my husband Josh a few samples of pallet walls created by adventurous parents. It can be effective against groups and armored targets when loaded with explosive rounds. It can hold a magazine of 5 to 8 rounds and deliver substantial damage to enemies at the cost of long-range effectiveness. 357 – This revolver, which seems to be rare (at least early in the game), offers an excellent punch. However, because the weapon is quick, it can be used in conjunction with a silent takedown to incapacitate multiple foes.ĭiamond Back. The trade-off is the weapon’s extremely short range – you may not have to get close enough for a takedown, but you will have to be close enough to hear your target picking his nose. Handgunsīuzzkill TND Stun Gun – Silent and quick, the stun gun can knock an opponent out cold in the blink of an eye, making it great for non-violent stealth characters. Of course, they do require energy, so the Windowmaker will be preferred if you happen to find yourself in knife-fight range with a group. With all of this said, the shotgun’s usefulness is somewhat negated by takedowns, which are generally quicker and quieter. It’s not quiet, and it’s not accurate, but it is powerful and messy. Widowmaker TX Shotgun – This big, nasty shotgun does what all shotguns do best – kill people at short ranges. Besides being non-lethal, this weapon is also quiet, so it can be used with little fear of alarming other guards. The tranquilizer rifle fires darts that put out a human’s lights in a few seconds, unless you hit them in the head, which results in immediate incapacitation. PAX-22 Tranquilizer Rifle – Looking to take out enemies from a decent range without killing them? That’s what this is for. The big downside to this rifle is the fact that a suppressor is not built-in, making it suitable only to situations where detection isn’t feared. This one is a bit less conventional, however, as it is semi-automatic and holds five-round magazines. Longsword 202 Sniper Rifle – Hey, look, it’s another sniper rifle. As you might expect, this is the weapon of choice for long-range kills, but is a poor firearm for short-range work. There’s no need for a suppressor upgrade because it is built-in. It’s accurate at long ranges, but has a low rate of fire. Longsword Whisperhead Sniper Rifle – Hey look, it’s a sniper rifle. Potential upgrades such as sound suppressors and laser targeting can turn this into a nice weapon for assassins feeling thuggish. It can spray-and-pray with the best of them, and since it’s not as accurate as many other rifles, it is the best choice for that use. Hurricane TMP-18 Submachine Gun – Encountered early, this short range, fully automatic weapon is good for medium-range skirmishes. There are no upgrades, so this weapon will likely be left to use as a novelty as more weapons become available. It fires two barrels at once and does significant damage, with the obvious disadvantage being its short range and slow rate of fire. Huntsman Silverback – This basic double-barreled shotgun is as old-tech as it gets, and is available to players with certain pre-order packs. With all of that said, it can be a bit thirsty for ammo, so it must be used with precision despite the fact that it can be fired full-auto. This weapon is both powerful and accurate at long distances, and it can be upgraded with a silencer, laser sight, and even a target-assist system. RiflesįR-27 SFR Combat Rifle – A well-rounded weapon, the combat rifle will be favored by combat characters looking to mix things up at medium to long range. With this information in mind, let’s have a look at the hardware at your disposable in Human Revolution. In this new game players are no longer forced to specialize and can instead use any weapon equally well. One big difference, however, is the lack of weapon skills. Like the original game, Deus Ex: Human Revolution includes a wide variety of deadly weapons that can be used to bring down foes. ![]() I’ll concentrate on Resolve, Xto7 and 7toX – as these have the most direct application for editors.ĭaVinci Resolve offers an exchange in both directions between Resolve and Final Cut Pro 7 or X. ![]() These offer migration of edited sequences when you stay within the parameters that FCP XML currently exposes to developers. Some interchange between Final Cut Pro X and 7 has been achieved by CatDV, DaVinci Resolve and Assisted Editing’s Xto7 for Final Cut Pro and 7toX for Final Cut Pro. FCP X links one object to another in a trackless parent-child connection, so there is no easy and direct translation of complex projects between the two versions. The underlying editing structure of Final Cut Pro 7 is based on the relationship of clips against time and tracks. Stretching the language analogy, FCP 7’s XML is as different from FCP X’s XML as English is from Russian. ![]() Apple’s Final Cut Pro X was updated to include XML interchange, but this new version of XML (labeled FCP XML) is completely different from the XML format used in FCP 7. Standard XML variations are like Romance languages – one version is as different from another, as German is from French thus, translation software is required. XML (eXtensible Markup Language) has become a common method of data interchange between post production applications.

Despite these setbacks, the finished result was a grime-filled city that perfectly suited the film's detective noir aesthetic. Originally filmed on location throughout London, Glasgow, and Liverpool, some exterior scenes were later shot in Chicago following COVID-19 delays and the production's eventual relocation back to US soil. With Matt Reeves's latest reinvention of the Batman franchise, the Gotham featured on-screen returned to a much more imposing location than that featured in Christopher Nolan's Dark Knight trilogy. |
